As a Armed Security Officer - Government Site in San Jose, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Patrol Armed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help prevent incidents, and providing outstanding customer service and communication to all individuals on site. This position requires you to be armed and to operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties, so a valid driver's license and the appropriate armed guard credentials are necessary. What You'll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor for and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.
  • Interact professionally with employees, visitors, and/or the public while upholding Allied Universal standards.
  • Complete required reports and documentation related to incidents, patrols, and daily activities.
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and instructions, including those related to armed patrol duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Must possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local laws and regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license in the state where the job is located is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions only.
  • Customer service experience is preferred. 
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred. 
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
