The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides corporate, government, and institutional clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital, grow, manage risk, and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centers around the world. Our Sales and Trading businesses include Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Commodities, and Securitization, among others. Our Trading Floor is a major contributor to the overall success of CIBC Capital Markets and CIBC parent. Our Sales, Trading and Research colleagues come from diverse educational, professional and internal backgrounds including Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Programming, CA, CFA, MBA, Middle Office, Finance and Risk Management. These core competencies enable the group to effectively achieve its mandate to provide high quality products and services to our global clients. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sales and Trading Analyst to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about financial markets and eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment. As an Analyst, you will support our sales and trading operations, working closely with senior sales and trading colleagues to facilitate transactions and enhance client relationships. Responsibilities include assisting in the execution of trades and management of client accounts; conducting market research and analysis to support trading strategies and decision-making; monitoring market trends, pricing, and trading volumes across various asset classes; preparing presentations and conducting research on clients to assist senior team members in securing new mandates; working closely with various Global Markets teams as well as Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking on exploring opportunities, developing market views, and bringing deals to the public or private markets; collaborating with senior team members to prepare reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders; helping maintain and update trading systems and databases; participating in team meetings and contributing ideas for process improvements and client engagement strategies; and improving technical and soft skills by participating in ongoing training provided by the bank. Candidates should be graduates with a quantitative degree such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline (graduation date of May 2025), be results-oriented self-starters, team players, detail-oriented with strong writing and oral communication skills, strong technical/computer and analytical skills including high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and efficient organizational skills.
