Job Description Job Title: Pharmacy Consultant Job Overview: The Pharmacy Consultant is responsible for providing expert pharmacy services and advice to healthcare organizations, patients, and other stakeholders. The role requires strong clinical knowledge and expertise in medication management, as well as the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert pharmacy consultation services to healthcare organizations, patients, and other stakeholders
  • Develop and implement medication management strategies to optimize patient outcomes
  • Conduct medication therapy reviews to identify and resolve medication-related problems
  • Provide patient education on medication use, side effects, and interactions
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement medication-related policies and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in pharmacy practice, including new medications, drug interactions, and regulatory changes
  • Develop and deliver education and training programs for healthcare professionals and patients
  • Provide guidance and support to pharmacy staff on medication management and dispensing practices
  • Analyze medication utilization data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on pharmacy-related topics for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the state of practice
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clinical pharmacy or pharmacy consulting role
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in medication management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with healthcare teams and patients
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience with medication therapy management software and electronic health records (EHRs)
  • Flexibility to travel as needed
