General Function

Performs duties related to the origination of residential 1st mortgage loans for outside referrals. Meets standards and objectives for mortgage loan sales and cross-selling. Responsible for the entire mortgage loan process from application to closing.

Acts responsibly and ethically, ensuring a positive customer experience while managing risks and following policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, contacts).
• Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, loan products, and regulations.
• Follow protocols for escalation and exceptions.
• Complete application forms and use laptops for communication, rate access, credit reports, and loan transmission.
• Gather documentation, manage pipeline, and deliver loans timely.
• Provide updates to clients and staff, maintaining high customer service standards.
• Participate in required meetings.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Knowledge of lending guidelines, processing, underwriting, and regulations.
• Organizational, communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
• Proven computer skills and basic sales techniques.
• Strong desire to succeed in a competitive environment.
• Must complete S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS at employment.
