Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient
Packer to join our food manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for picking raw ingredients, packaging finished food products, and preparing orders for shipment. Your attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and commitment to quality will ensure that our products reach customers in excellent condition and on time.
Key Responsibilities: - Order Picking: Accurately pick food products, ingredients, or supplies from inventory based on production orders or customer orders, ensuring the correct items and quantities are selected.
- Product Packaging: Package finished food products according to specifications, ensuring that products are securely and attractively packaged for shipment. Follow guidelines for labeling, sealing, and ensuring the integrity of the packaging.
- Inventory Management: Assist in organizing inventory, ensuring that items are stored correctly and that inventory levels are regularly checked and updated. Report any discrepancies in inventory counts.
- Shipping Preparation: Prepare items for shipment, ensuring that all necessary shipping paperwork (e.g., packing slips, labels) is accurate and attached to outgoing orders. Ensure that orders are ready for delivery within deadlines.
- Quality Control: Inspect food products for quality, checking for defects, damage, or contamination. Ensure that food safety and hygiene standards are met at all stages of picking and packing.
- Compliance with Food Safety Standards: Adhere to company policies and legal regulations related to food safety, hygiene, and quality control (e.g., HACCP guidelines, sanitation protocols). Ensure all packing and handling meets regulatory requirements.
- Labeling: Apply labels to packaged food products, ensuring that product information (e.g., ingredients, allergens, expiry dates) is accurate and clear.
- Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Ensure that food products and packaging materials are stored properly to prevent contamination.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse staff, production teams, and logistics personnel to ensure smooth and efficient order fulfillment and shipment preparation.
Skills & Qualifications: - Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, food manufacturing, or similar environment is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to carefully follow product specifications, packing instructions, and quality control guidelines.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and shipping deadlines.
- Food Safety Awareness: Basic knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in handling food products (e.g., proper hygiene, temperature control, cross-contamination prevention).
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to ensure accurate documentation and coordination with team members.
- Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to meet production goals and maintain a positive workplace culture.
