Job Description

An opportunity is available for a skilled ESL Teacher to support middle school students in developing their English language proficiency. This full-semester contract position is based in Zion, IL, and focuses on delivering engaging and effective instruction to meet the diverse needs of English language learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the language abilities of middle school students.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to enhance vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support students' academic and social development.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid ESL teaching certification or relevant teaching credentials.
• Experience teaching English as a second language, preferably at the middle school level.
• Strong knowledge of ESL methodologies and language development principles.
• Ability to adapt teaching styles to accommodate varying student learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering an encouraging, student-centered learning environment.

Location: Zion, Illinois
Duration: Full semester contract
