Sierra Staffing Group is seeking a Data Center Technician for a rapidly growing Data Center Company in the Sparks, NV Area. This is a great opportunity to join a stable company that offers huge career progression.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary function for the Data Center/Low Voltage Technician will be to assist Lead Tech with service and installation of high-end communication, cable infrastructures and enhance jobsite productivity. Help build out technology systems which encompass voice, data, and video over copper, fiber optics and wireless cabling.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must have physical stamina sufficient to perform construction type work such as: lifting and carrying approximately 100 pounds, bending, stooping, pulling, climbing in and around construction equipment, up and down ladders and in and out of ditches.
• Demonstrate high integrity, honesty, and trust.
• Working knowledge of copper data cable. Fiber optic, and coax termination and testing
• Ability to with wireless installation, A/V systems, and access control and CCTV.
• Provide physical labor to install voice, data, and video cabling.
• Be safety conscious and abide by company safety policies.
• Read, understand, and follow the company policies and procedures.
• Able to read construction print and other job-related documentation.
• Oral and written skills and ability to communicate with other workers, craftsmen, and other trades.
• Able to work with basic hand tools i.e.; screw driver, electric drill, etc.
• Must possess certain hand tools needed to complete jobs effectively.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Two years' experience in a cable technician position.
• Follow direction, written or verbal, from supervisors.
• Ability to work long hours.
• Be safety conscious and abide by company safety policies.
• Attend all scheduled work-related training.
• Oral and written skills and ability to communicate with other workers, craftsmen, and other trades.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to travel out of town during the week and/or weekends.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass drug test anytime as requested by employer.
• Workers must be punctual and reliable.
• May need to travel out of town when required.
• Possess a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Must have a desire to learn and grow in a career.
• Will be required to have certain tools to perform job.
