Cybersecurity Specialist (In Office| $85K–$95K + Excellent Benefits)

Recruiting a Cybersecurity Specialist on behalf of a public company to join their growing IT team. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in network security, vulnerability management and software lifecycle support.

As a key member of the team, you’ll work across departments to identify, resolve, and prevent security threats, while ensuring the company’s systems, software, and data remain protected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor server and firewall logs and analyze network traffic to detect threats.
  • Recommend, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Analyze vulnerability scan results, prioritize remediation efforts, and track progress.
  • Collaborate with system owners to apply patches and updates.
  • Manage software lifecycles of company-approved applications.
  • Conduct user activity audits and respond to security breaches.
  • Provide Level 2 or 3 helpdesk support as needed.
  • Maintain security documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in IT security or related field.
  • Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM ) are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Windows platforms, Azure, firewalls, encryption, and log analytics.
  • Familiarity with NIST security guidelines and disaster recovery principles.
  • Experience with sandbox technology and security appliances.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.
