Job Description

One of our clients based out of Michigan is looking to add a skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to help with the overall IT security posture of the organization. We are seeking someone with a background and familiarity with things like managing event logs, SIEM, intrusion prevention, vulnerability management and data protection solutions.

This is a full-time role hybrid on-site with our client near Wexford County in mid/northern Michigan. Job Responsibilities for the Cybersecurity Specialist job:

• Ensure compliance and support security operations
• Stay ahead of threats, ensuring compliance, and strengthening the technological backbone of company infrastructure
• You will monitor and manage risk, lead response efforts when needed, and help shape a proactive security culture across the organization
• We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist who brings both technical expertise and strategic insight to the table

Job Qualifications for the Cybersecurity Specialist job:

• The ideal candidate will have: Strong knowledge of security principles and frameworks, with a hands-on understanding of cybersecurity best practices
• Progressive experience in IT security or regulatory compliance, particularly with standards like NIST CSF or NERC CIP, or equivalent experience
• Proven ability to design and support key security tools such as SIEM, intrusion prevention, vulnerability management, and data protection solutions
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written), and a solid grasp of databases and computer systems development
