As a Armed Security Guard - Government Site in San Jose, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Patrol Armed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help prevent unwanted activity, and providing outstanding customer service and communication to everyone you encounter. This position requires you to be armed and to operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties, so a valid driver's license and the appropriate armed guard credentials are necessary. What You'll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity and report any security-related concerns according to established protocols.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and/or the public with security-related inquiries and directions as needed.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and security-related activities.
  • Adhere to all company and client policies regarding the carrying and use of firearms while on duty.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Must possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local laws and regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state where the job is located and meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions only.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred. 
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
