Mothership's client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is seeking an Animal Care Associate to support their team in Wilmington, MA. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the welfare of their research animals. The Animal Care Associate’s dedication will directly impact the well-being of these animals and ultimately contribute to improving the lives of patients globally.

Location: Wilmington, MA

Pay: $18-21.25/hour

Schedule: M-Th Flex Schedule 5-8AM Start time M-F (flexible), M-Fr 8.5 hour days, Fri 6 hour workday (no weekends or nights required)

This is an onsite W2 contract position with a possible conversion to a full time position.

There are 2 positions here,

1 Entry Level role requires no experience just curiosity and flexibility. No experience required or even work experience can be a HS Grad.

1 More Experienced position is more senior and requires either a College Degree (ideally with an interest in Sciences Biology, Chemistry, Sciences, etc.) or 2 years of experience working with animals.

Entry level role pays up to 18 per hour and more experienced role pay is up to 21.25 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the well-being and health of research animals, encompassing food and water provision, and ensuring clean living environments.
• Receive, inspect, and properly house incoming animals.
• Conduct health observations, administer medications, draw blood samples, and provide injections adhering to established protocols.
• Additional duties may include restocking supplies and supporting other operational tasks as required.

Job Qualifications:

Candidates possessing the following qualities will receive further training:

• Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• No High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must reside locally as the role requires onsite presence.
• Minimum 6 months or more of prior working experience.

Biosecurity Note: Certain animals pose potential biosecurity risks (Mice/rats/rabbits/snakes/hamsters/gerbils/guinea pigs). Adherence to the pet policy is crucial.
